Geoff is Managing Director of FMRC Business Development Pty Ltd. He has over 25 years experience consulting to and training Owners, Corporate Executives and Middle Managers in retail/service and dealer franchise networks in business & financial management.
He worked in wholesale, stockbroking & public relations before joining FMRC in 1984. He became a partner & joined the board in 1988. In 1998 he established his separate company, FMRC Business Development to specialise in retailing and dealer development in franchise networks and other retail sectors.
Projects and clients he has been responsible for include;- for 15 years he was retained exclusively by Toyota Australia to conduct dealer diploma courses for dealer principals & department managers;
In 1997 he tailored programmes for the Toyota Distributor in the Pacific region; has been invited 3 times by Toyota in Japan to present his courses to their Distributors in Asia and the Americas;
In 1994 established and conducted dealer-programmes for Case New Holland in machinery, (later used by all the machinery manufacturers under The Tractor & Machinery Association including Case New Holland, John Deere, AGCO, Kubota, Landpower);
Yamaha Australia, 1999, Tellwater Marine 2002, for 8 years facilitated “Top-Dealer” comparisons with Canon Australia;
Since 2006 developed and conducted dealer financial and business planning programmes for Bridgestone and their franchisees.
Other clients include Bayer and IHD in rural-merchandising and buying groups in pharmacy. His residential 4-day management workshop for Pharmacists is rated as the leading business-management workshop in that industry. He designs & conducts programmes on Dealership Financial, People, Marketing, Sales & Business Planning.
He is now engaged by selected firms and groups to bring this experience by consulting at Board level to assist with strategic planning, valuation and in-house training. He is noted for his ability to present practical, “cutting-through” material for the independent business operator in an easy to understand and enjoyable style.
